I'm happy to announce that after a quick head count, the brave soldiers of the 22nd Lothian Borderers (and their suave Spanish ally) managed to despatch a total of 22 French Hussars and Voltiguers at the cost of no British casualties. No group failed outright to get the message to Wellington, thus saving the army from being flanked at Salamanca.
Well done to all the chaps who did their service proud!
God Save the King!

Frog?

Neil,
For someone worried about their game being perceived as racist, you're pretty free and easy with terms like "frog" :^)
(I often wondered about the whole French thing. I mean, England builds a tunnel to France so the everyone can travel more freely. So a French guy gets on the train in Paris and travels to England and (until recently) gets off at a station in London named after a battle in which the French were resoundingly trounced by British forces. Talk about passive aggressive!)
More serious though, sounds like it was great!

... and this racism thing! Will it never end? >grin<
The alternate word would, of course, be 'crapauds' - a toad or the root of 'Johnny Crapaud', the nickname for Frenchmen.
Of course, now that 'Frog' has been named, I can only assume the accusations of animal abuse will follow? Incoming PETA hatemail in 5...4...3....

...interesting idea. Can you play the French in D&H? That might be a campaign idea for some people.
I want to play a Stormtrooper!

No.
I've never understood the yearning of people to play the bad guy in a game where the bad guy is simply there as a tool to tell a story. Its like in SW games - theres ALWAYS someone who wants to play a bloody stormtrooper! All of the stuff thats been attributed to stormtroopers outside the films doesn't change the fact that they are simply mooks who get slaughtered in their hundreds by anyone who has a name in the credits! Ditto the French in Sharpe.
OK, less ranty, you *could* play the French in D&H, especially now that the national stereptypes have been removed. I would have to create a new social class set for them (as being, you know, post-Revolutionary, some classes are more equal than others) but its more than do-able. Possibly something for the Almanac later after launch.
