Update me on your game: redux

Andrew Kenrick's picture

Things have been a little quiet on here of late, as I'm sure everyone is busy beavering away on new products! So I thought it'd be a good opportunity for people to update us all on their latest projects.

I'd like to hear all about games that hard at you're working on or that are solid and available for playtest? Give me a couple of paragraphs.

Two caveats (stolen from Graham!):

1. Don't give an advertising pitch. Tell us what the game's like, like a normal person.

[I Lost My Heart To...] The first ever session of play

Malcolm Craig's picture

Weary from Games Expo, maybe having had a beer or two, I bludgeoned Joe, Matt, Gregor and Iain into playtesting I Lost My Heart To A Starship Trooper (ILMHTAST for the sake of brevity). Indeed, it was the first time it had ever actually been played, so that was quite something. For those who might not know, ILMHTAST is a game where each participant takes the role of Sarah, an intergalactic space lady who is attempting to reach the risque and sexy Close Encounter Three with the hunky Captain Strange. Various amusing and romantic encounters should result along the way.

Wordplay Open Playtest

Hi,

Further to a brief chat with Andrew Kenrick at Expo 08, I have been encouraged to post up the June draft of my Wordplay roleplaying game. The purpose of making the text available rather early is to open up access to the game and encourage as much feedback as possible to help strengthen the game in anticipation of an October free PDF release.

The plan is to publish the game as a book and PDF in Spring of next year. This version will have additional 'themes', mini backgrounds for the game, and original illustrations.

Long Enough To Playtest?

Destriarch's picture

I'm working on a new game that I might just, if I am extremely quick in finishing it up and laying it out, have ready and printed in time for Games Expo at the end of May. It's going to be a close-run thing, but I reckon I can do it.

Problem is, it doesn't leave much time for playtesting and I don't have a group handy to try it out. Reckon it's doable? I have the basic rules down more or less, barring a little refinement. Anyone care to help, or at least offer commentary on them?

[Reel Adventures] Almost done but some help needed

Iain McAllister's picture

I am almost done with Reel Adventures but would like to get a few more external playtests in before the end of march. The current rules can be found here:

[Solipsist] AP: Superman and John Constantine get on a plane...

Gregor Hutton's picture

So... I said I would boot this AP off, and I thought it unlikely that I would get around to it for a few days. Turns out I was wrong...

Anyway, tonight I was over at John Wilson's and we had a game of Solipsist with David, John and me. David ran it and we followed the rules and advice in the (very) latest version of the text, starting at the top and following it for a "single session" of play.
